Dylan Hooper

Dylan Hooper is an award-winning saxophonist and composer based in Perth.

He performs in a wide array of different projects; chamber jazz with the Johannes Leubbers Dectet, soul rock’n’roll with Boom! Bap! Pow!; New Orleans-influenced funk with the Junkadelic Brass Band, and modern large ensemble jazz with the Aaron Spiers Big Band, as well as numerous original small jazz groups.

He was a composer and performer on the Helpmann-award-nominated ‘The Red Tree’ for Barking Gecko Theatre Company, and has won numerous Western Australian Music industry and Perth Dance Music awards with ten-piece hip hop group ‘The Typhoons’. Dylan currently teaches saxophone at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, where he earned a Bachelor of Performance (Jazz) and a Graduate Diploma (Jazz).
